How do I enter my child in Home School?

You will need to fill out this Home School Entry Form. You can mail it to the address on your right or fax it to:
407-871-7299

You will then need to withdraw your child from your current brick and mortar school.

After receipt of your entry form, you will get a verification letter that will explain your annual evaluation requirements.

What are the Annual Evaluation requirements?

Home school students must show a year's growth each year.

An easy way to meet your evaluation requirements is to use our Seminole County Virtual School program. There is no cost to you and you are provided with a curriculum and a teacher. You also get the benefit of our face-to-face help sessions and use of our computer lab facilities if you desire. Simply printing your academic report that shows that your student has passed the appropriate courses will meet your annual requirements.

Alternate ways to meet your evaluation requirements are linked here. Often, parents purchase their own curriculum and then pay a certified teacher to review a portfolio that demonstrates the student's growth. That teacher then fills out this written evaluation form.

Fill out this home school withdrawal form and either mail it to the address on the right or fax it to:

There will be a follow up to ensure your child has been enrolled in school as required by Florida law.
